The Monarca Farm Hemp Harvest
Monarca Farm is a family agro-business located in Lajas, Puerto Rico. Implementing the latest technology in the sowing and cultivation of hemp in order to promote energy conservation and the prevention of air and water pollution.
Our motto is "Quality processes from seed to customer", for us as an agro-business it is extremely important to know what happened to our plants during all the cultivation process, from the seed germination to packing and sending the products to our costumers.
We have a license to grow (72_0034) and process (72_0017M) Hemp in Puerto Rico. Both licenses are granted by the Puerto Rico Department of Agriculture. As part of the requirements for growing hemp in Puerto Rico, all of our crops are subjected to laboratory tests to show that our product complies with the <.3%THC allowed.
Hemp Legal Basis in Puerto Rico
Agriculture Improvement Act 2018) (P.L. 115-334) (Farm Bill 2018):
The 2018 Farm Bill amends the Controlled Substances Act, 21 U.S.C. §801, et seq., Removing Hemp from the term "marijuana." The term "Hemp" is defined by the Farm Bill 2018 as the Cannabis sativa L. plant and any of its parts, including the seeds and all its derivatives, extracts, Cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers, in growth or not, with a concentration of delta-9- tetrahydrocannabinol not greater than 0.3% in its dry state. Hemp is legal as long as it has a concentration less than or equal to 0.3% of THC in its dry state and it complies with this law.
What is CBD?
CBD is a cannabinoid compound that is not psychotropic and has enormous therapeutic potential.
Cannabinoids are the chemicals that activate cannabinoid receptors in the brain and in the body. In addition to Phyto cannabinoids there are also endogenous cannabinoids that occur naturally in the body. There are also synthetic cannabinoids created by pharmacists.
CBD has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsant, antipsychotic, anticancer properties and protects the neurological system. CBD activates serotonin receptors causing an antidepressant effect. Clinical and scientific studies show that CBD may have therapeutic potential for many conditions, including: chronic pain, cancer, anxiety, diabetes, epilepsy, rheumatic arthritis, PTSD, insomnia, alcoholism, cardiovascular diseases, antibiotic resistant infections and neurological problems.

Do I need to have a Medicinal Cannabis license to be able to buy Hemp-derived products?
NO, CBD products derived from hemp do not need a Medical Cannabis license to be purchased.
